Bridging systems engineering and software engineering
As products become increasingly software-defined, organizations face a growing challenge: ensuring that stakeholder needs, business requirements, systems engineering, and software development remain connected throughout the product lifecycle. When these disciplines operate in silos, traceability breaks down, complexity increases, and innovation slows.
CATIA helps organizations capture stakeholder needs, define system requirements, and design complex products through Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). Tuleap extends this digital thread into software engineering by connecting requirements, development activities, testing, quality management, and delivery.
Together, CATIA and Tuleap create digital continuity from stakeholder needs to software delivery, helping organizations align business objectives, systems engineering, and software execution while ensuring end-to-end traceability and governance across the product lifecycle.
Enalean, the company behind Tuleap
Enalean is an independent company founded in 2011, based in the French Alps.
We develop Tuleap and support teams building critical software with rigor, agility, and traceability.
“Building software is a collective effort, a bit like climbing a mountain together.
Based in the heart of the Alps, we know mountains well. What we know even better is the power of agile approaches and strong software engineering.”

The team
Enalean’s leadership team comes from the field.
Former technical leaders in industry, the founders created Enalean to build the tool they wished they had themselves.
Over time, their approach has evolved into a structured model that combines a robust product, deep expertise, and close support, while staying true to a core principle: customer feedback remains a top priority and continuously shapes the evolution of Tuleap.
Laurent Charles
Before founding Enalean in 2011, he spent more than 16 years in IT delivery within large industrial organizations, where he implemented software development practices to improve performance and collaboration across teams. He is particularly focused on the practical application of software engineering methods to turn software into a real competitive advantage for organizations.
Manuel Vacelet
As Head of Engineering, he oversees the working environment and day-to-day operations of the R&D team. He also acts as Product Owner for Tuleap, representing customer needs in the product’s evolution. A technical expert, he splits his time between code reviews, supporting the engineering team, and contributing directly to software engineering activities.
